This website is about my personal style of photography.

I'm very often out taking photographs just because I like it. That is the most important precondition to get good results. The steps from shooting until printing the photographs is depending on what kind of final result you want to obtain. I decided to make large fine-art-prints, approximately 120 cm x 84 cm in size. So I have to use photographic equipment that provides me with high resolution images.

For 15 years this quality could only be obtained with large-formate-film in a view camera. In the last years digital technology has advanced so far, that  it provides me with even higher quality than my analoge equipment. Since 2010 I use stitching-technology to put together several  shots of a DSLR-camera to a singel photograph with extraordinary high resolution.

There is a short list of the digital gear I'm using now in  Equipment .
From 1994 until 2009 I used an Arca-Swiss F-line Camara to shoot transparencies. The solutions I found to use this bulky equipment for outdoor-photography is described there in detail.

The pictures on this website can not compete with the original large-format-transparencies, or with fine-art-prints.

In the following example all details of a 4x5"-transparency can be seen. The program Zoomify enables you to zoom into the photograph wherever you want.

Most of my shots are taken in the rural environment of Muenster, which is situated in North-west-Germany. (Series 1 Münsterland)

I'm traveling around to other regions of Germany. Some results of these tours are shown in series 2 Germany.

Images of some trips to the Black Forest are found in
Black Forest (2009)
and
Black Forest Apr. 2011

Poland, Norway and Sweden are my favorite destinations outside Germany. The results of the last journeys are presented in separate series indicated on top of this page.

Closeup-photography is an importent section of my work and presented in series 3: Closeups.
