Through the
Southern Black Forest Wutachschlucht - Wiesental - Markgräfler Land - Kaiserstuhl April 13 - 23, 2011 |
_________________________________________________________________________________________ |
The Wutachschlucht is found in the
south-eastern part of the Black Forest. |
In the higher regions of the Black Forest ... |
...the flowers of early spring are blooming. |
Even on the shady and cold north-slopes ferns are growing. |

The beach trees in the summit region just began unfolding their leaves |

The Wiesental opens to the south . In its moderate climate grow fruit trees high up the slopes. |

The Markgräfler Land is in the western foothills of the Black Forest. It is a well known fruit-growing region. Spring is more advanced than in the colder regions. Blossoms and leaves open everywhere. |

_________________________________________________________________________________________ Kaiserstuhl
The Kaiserstuhl is the most western region I visited during this spring-tour.
In the region around Oberbergen the slopes in the vineyards shine in bright yellow. They are covered with blooming woad. |
Another beautiful and impressive plant grows on this dry habitat, the German Iris. |
This series ends with another very nice little white lilie which grows in some vineyards between the vines in great numbers: the star-of-Bethlehem (Ornithogalum umbellatum). |
